Getting Kids in Commercials

You’ve probably found yourself on many occasions sitting in front of the television set watching your favorite program when suddenly they go to a commercial. It just so happens that the commercial features some of the most adorable little children you’ve ever seen. They warm your heart and make you laugh and then suddenly seconds later it is over. That's when you say... "My kid could have done that". Well you are absolutely right. The fact is getting your child into commercials is very competitive but not as difficult as you might think.
Introducing your child to the commercial acting industry can be an exciting experience if it is handled properly. Auditions or Castings which are now held in major cities throughout the United States will often exhibit an atmosphere that is very playfull where kids seem to develop friendships. This is not to imply that the so called "Stage Mom" is not also found at these same auditions in which some parents are obviously pressuring their child to perform regardless of what is best for their them. With every good thing in life there is always going to be a few bad eggs in the crowd.
In the upcoming issues we are going to offer you some sound advice on learning more about the commercial acting industry. We will discuss such topics as "Finding a Talent Agent", "Does My Child Need a Headshot", "Should My Child Enroll in an Acting School", and most importantly "How Much Should All This Cost Me"?
We will also introduce you to the world of print which is also very lucrative for your child. It's different than commercial acting but there is a lot of opportunity in this part of the advertising medium.
Written by leaders in the industry you will receive the latest information about how to avoid being scammed and learn how to give your child the best advantage to succeed without spending a lot of money. We will also show you how you can take the earnings your child receives from performing and create a college fund for when they are older. Your child could actually have their college education paid for from perfoming in just a couple of commercials.
Look for our next issue in February where we will interview actual commercial kid actors along with their parents and learn from their experiences first hand. We will also give you some actual earnings reported from different commercials throughout the country that various children performed in both nationally and regionally.
